The incredible craftsmen of Lowden Guitars are now building the Avalon Guitars. The only major difference is in the name.
They have opted to use a pin bridge system, instead of the through bridge that has been a Lowden characteristic since the beginning, because they beleive it will transfer more sound. Who are we to disagree, since the majority of steel string guitars from the modern age use that bridge. They have changed the neck from a five piece to a two piece neck in an attempt to help with environmental concerns.
Less waste of rainforest wood. Some of the folks who do the building told me personally that they feel they will be allowed to build
even better guitars than they have been building, and that is saying a lot.
